I often catch up on my TIVO'd shows while I sit on my couch eating my lunch, next to my long-suffering cat who doesn't even try to eat my food while sitting a foot away. Definitely the only pet in my house that wouldn't!
Today I watched an episode of Wife Swap. Wow. Took my breath away. Wife Swap is kind of my dirty little pleasure show, even though I don't like reality shows in general. I like it because it shows the variations in how people live, which is something I am intensely interested in. They always pit rich vs. poor, neat vs. slobby, fat vs. skinny, you get the idea.
One of the husbands on the show today was so heinous, so cruel and nasty that I just couldn't believe it. He actually called his "wife" a stupid redneck in front of his kids! And as a midwesterner, I feel righteously outraged that he thinks we're all rednecks. So, I hopped on the old "internets" to see if anybody else felt the same way. Unbelievable - this man has been excoriated on the web. People are up in arms, have sent hate mail, gone to his house. He has had to hire a security guard.
I used to think that John Thain was the most hated man in America. This week, the most hated man is Stephen Fowler.
Here are some fun links so you, too, can share the outrage.
Last week I had a big rush order for a best-selling author, Adriana Trigiani. Dozens of my Valentine's Day Heart Assortment (pictured above) were sent to NYC for the unveiling today of her new book, Very Valentine.
